Culturally informed and empathy led, Infornographic applies its visual communications pedigree to launch and support social impact organizations from street side mutual-aid groups and ethical technology startups to international non-profits and multinational NGOs.

After spending recent years in Venezuela during its economic and political crisis, Infornographic principal Miguel Angel Hurtado has dedicated himself to social impact causes.
Distributing food and clothes to asylum seeking families through local NYC mutual-aid groups and accompanying them to immigration court in the direct face of ICE – he’s helped launch Ethiopian aid non-profit Afrikin International, done social media communications for ethical tech startups One Project and All Tech Is Human, and is helping empower newcomer youth at the International Rescue Committee with the tools to tell their own visual stories of their new young lives in support and safety.
2025 and 2026 documentation of IRC’s Newcomer Youth Summer Academy school program. NYSA prepares newly arrived refugee children and youth for success at their grade level in the New York City public school system, bringing social-emotional learning, creative education, and a culturally responsive curriculum to each student.
Actively support IRC’s Youth Education year round through tutoring in their Youth ESOL (English to Speakers of Other Languages) Program. Students represented 20 different countries and spoke more than 13 languages, with a majority speaking Spanish - Persian and Ukrainian were also among the most commonly spoken languages.
IRC’S Resettlement, Asylum and Integration Youth Photography Program launched in 2024 to provide a creative space for refugee, asylum-seeking, and immigrant youth in NYC navigating displacement, interrupted education, and cultural transitions. Students learn foundational photography skills, including digital and film camera fundamentals, composition, light, and perspective, while also exploring cyanotype printing, large-format film photography, and multiple-exposure techniques.
In 2025, in collaboration with IRC Global, students participated in a pilot four-month Visual Storytelling project, immersing themselves in the craft and creating their own narrative series. The impact of this program has proven to empower young artists' sense of creative agency by encouraging them to author their own stories in a safe space. The project was exhibited at IRC Global Headquarters, hosted by IRC CEO David Milibrand, and renewed in 2026, growing to other IRC Resettlement centers across the country.
In direct collaboration with IRC Global’s social media team, we interviewed the students and translated their stories with empathy and dignity while protecting their identities. The resulting work from our Visual Storytelling Program was used on their official global Instagram as a firsthand telling of their stories of resettlement.
A 2023 redesign and rebranding project for Afrikin International Services, an independent non-profit 501(c), originators of African Services Committee, a 42 year-old African immigrant and refugee health, legal, housing, and support organization. Infornographic worked with the primary stakeholders to visually and contextually reestablish their long running social impact presence, messaging and public voice.
Assisted VP of Communications for tech founder Justin Rosentein’s Economic Democracy startup and fund, One Project and their future platform Commons. Wrote multiple culturally informed social media posts a week regarding the vital importance for ethical technology and of historic and current applications of democratic economic systems worldwide.
Shot events for Responsible Tech pioneer All Tech Is Human, a NYC based non-profit founded in 2018 that brings together a diverse range of individuals and organizations across civil society, government, and industry. Its aim is to grow the Responsible Tech field by promoting knowledge-sharing and collaboration among multiple stakeholders to co-create a better tech future worldwide.
A 2025 independent photo journal exploring migration, civic life, culture, identity, and public space through reported essays, photography, interviews, and long-form storytelling. Documented immigration court accompaniment of asylum seeking newcomer families inside New York City courthouses during the active rise of ICE.
